About Huggalugs' Creator...

About me? My name is Elizar (e-lee-zar) and thats a picture of me on the right of the screen.
To start at the beginning, my youth was spent filled with some very interesting goings on, some early memories being building mud bricks on a farm we lived at with 2 of my 5 siblings and busking in the streets of Circular Quay in Sydney. I spent my teen years on the NSW east coast, with the time split between the famous surfing beach suburb of Maroubra in Sydney, Australia, and the incredibly beautiful coastal towns of Kiama and Byron Bay - if you ever get the chance to visit, do explore these magical hubs of picturesque scenery. Many people I spent time with then and now as well as the places themselves, left a very strong imprint of beauty on my mind. This feeling helped shaped my way of looking at the world and I am grateful to have been able to experience this during my formative years.
I created Huggalugs in early 2006 with a splash of fine arts and a sense of inspiration from children's way of putting an outfit together, as well as out of necessity for a product, which you can read more about here.
Doing this while juggling motherhood to two beautiful children, Audrey and Banjo, has never been less than a challenging yet very satisfying adventure. I think learning about life through the journey we each take is more fun with kids, even if it is much noisier. Watching them grow, explore and create is another part of my life I am also truly grateful for and doing it with a partner I cherish is yet another blessing in my life..
I try to help my children's environment and way of life be interesting as well as filled with colour, love and laughter. These points helped shape Huggalugs into something that children the world over are now experiencing and I hope through Huggalugs to share a little bit of this spirit with you and your children.
Please pass it on!
Best Wishes,
Elizar
